Data Deletion Policy

How families can request export or deletion.

This policy explains how Veralore handles requests to access, export, correct, or delete account and family memory information.

Effective September 26, 2026

Your Choices

Family administrators may request access, correction, export, or deletion of account information and Family Content associated with their family space.

Because Veralore is a shared family memory service, deletion requests may affect other family members' access to shared photos, recordings, stories, and memoir material.

Deleting From the Family Area

Family owners can delete a single story, or the whole family space, from the family area.

Deleting a story removes its original recording, photo, transcript, and written version from the family archive. Deleting the whole family space removes the family's recordings, photos, stories, and related family content for everyone in that space.

Deletion cannot be undone from the app. Download your archive first if you want to keep a copy. Deleted content may remain in backups for a limited period, as described under Retention Exceptions.

Exports

The family owner can use Download My Archive in the family space to save a ZIP copy of available original audio recordings, photos, stories, transcripts, prompts, memoir material, and related names and dates. The ZIP includes a readable HTML index.

Exports require a signed-in account with active owner membership. A loved one's paired device and an invitation link cannot export the family archive. Export access does not depend on choosing Core or Heirloom.

Keep a separate copy of important memories and check that downloaded recordings play. An export contains material available when it is prepared; it cannot restore material already deleted. If you cannot access your family space or download an archive, contact support@veralorefamily.com for help.

Cancellation and Memorial

Canceling a subscription stops future renewals and does not automatically delete family content. Once paid or trial access ends, adding new photos, questions, and recordings may be paused. Existing content remains subject to the retention and deletion terms in the Privacy Policy.

The archive export checks owner membership rather than subscription tier or payment status. If your account access changes, contact support for help with an export; this is not a guarantee of permanent account access or storage.

Memorial mode pauses new questions and recordings without deleting saved memories. The gallery and archive remain available to the family while the account and content remain accessible. Turning on Memorial is separate from canceling billing; use the billing portal to manage the subscription.

Deletion Requests

If you cannot use the in-app options, or want deletion of account information that is not in the family area, contact privacy@veralorefamily.com from the administrator email address and identify the family space or account.

Veralore may ask for reasonable verification before processing a request.

Deletion may remove account data, family content, photos, recordings, transcripts, story drafts, prompts, phone numbers, SMS consent records, and related service data, subject to the exceptions below.

Retention Exceptions

Veralore may retain information as needed to comply with law, enforce agreements, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, maintain security, process billing records, preserve backups for a limited period, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Deleted content may remain in backups or logs for a limited period before being overwritten or purged through normal retention cycles.

Shared Family Content

If multiple family members have access to the same family space, Veralore may require administrator authorization before deleting shared Family Content.

If one family member asks to delete content they personally provided, Veralore will evaluate the request in light of account roles, family permissions, technical feasibility, and applicable law.

Timing

Veralore will work to respond to verified deletion requests within a reasonable time and within time periods required by applicable law.

Complex requests, identity verification issues, legal holds, backups, or technical limitations may require additional time.
